Best known for her photographs that feature the artist as her own model interpreting media-influenced female stereotypes in a variety of people and settings, Cindy Sherman shoots alone in her studio, where she serves as director, photographer, makeup artist, stylist and subject. Her decades-long performative practice has produced many of the most iconic and influential images in contemporary art.
