REMY JUNGERMAN TRACING THE LINES

This enlightening look inside the work of celebrated artist Remy Jungerman examines how patterns and shapes seen in 20th century mar oon-shouldered capes from Suriname, as well as quilts from Gee's Bend, Alabama, have influenced his recent work. Tracing the Lines, a journey through time, memory and culture, also tells the larger story of how geometric patterns from West Africa came across the ocean to the Americas during the transatlantic slave trade.
