Jaume Plensa

MACBA, from December 1, 2018 to April 22, 2019
Since 1996 a museum in Barcelona (the Joan Miró Foundation) did not dedicate an exhibition to Jaume Plensa, one of the Catalan sculptors with the most international projection. The exhibition of the MACBA, curated by Ferran Barenblit, traces the trajectory of the multifaceted artist and exhibits works from 1980 and up to the present. A dialogue is established between works that deal with the human figure and abstract works.
At the beginning of the exhibition, the work studio of the artist is recreated, which Plensa conceives as an extension of his mind.
In parallel, the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid presents the Plensa Invisibles sculptural group the Palacio de Cristal (until March 3, 2019).
