A DARK PREMONITION

Hieronymus Bosch, (c. 14501516) was born and lived all his life in and near s-Hertogenbosch in the Duchy of Brabant. In 1488 he jo ined the Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Blessed Lady. A popular painter in his lifetime, he received commissions from the Netherland s and abroad. His work is known for its fantastic imagery, detailed landscapes, and illustrations of religious concepts and narrati ves. Cees Nooteboom, born in The Hague, Netherlands, in 1933, is one of Hollands most renowned authors.
