CAROL RAMA

Italian artist Carol Rama (b. 1918) developed her work consisting mainly of paintings, drawings and collages in Turin since the 1930 s. Her early works are marked by a radical breaking of taboos. Her permissive, equally rebellious and fragile watercolors with their focus on the body and sexuality, an- ticipate themes that would become important for action and body art of the 1960s and 1970s.
