GEGO. DEFYING STRUCTURES

The work of Gego (Gertrud Goldsmith), born in Hamburg, Germany and emigrated to Venezuela, is an excellent example of the evolution of abstract art in Latin America. Through a selection of works made between 1958 and 1988, the catalog shows the different facets of his career and places special emphasis on the central period of production, represented by the metal frames called Reticuláreas and Jets.
