MUYBRIDGE

This book traces Muybridge's life and work, from his early ideas on anatomy and movement to his final photographic experiments. It reproduces numerous plates from Muybridge's groundbreaking Animal Locomotion (1887). It also includes a significant portion of his first illustrated album, The Attitudes of Animals in Motion (1881), a highly unusual, hand-drawn work. A detailed chronology by British researcher Stephen Herbert sheds new light on one of the most important pioneers of photography.
