PICASSO POESIE POETIK / PICASSO, HIS POETRY AND POETICS

Overshadowed by his magnificent and internationally rewarded art, Picasso created literature: poems, prose, plays. In this book, the rarely analyzed writings are explored in the focus of literary studies, art history and linguistics. A conjoint hypothesis, which i s critically discussed, can be formulated as: The painter Picasso became an author of poetry (prose and plays) not by accident, pers onal crisis or self-discovery, but in the context of a serious literary project, placed in literary tradition and history.
