The making of the project Playback -an initiative by Dia Art Foundation at New York- involved a close collaboration with the artist in order to restore and rebuild his works. Both the exhibition and the book are the result of a six-year work that eventually became archaeological in order to reach one goal: to restore some films that had become old, and a technologically obsolete equipment, in order to suit the currently exhibition requirements.
