It is a deep reflection about Velázquez and his painting and about the irreplaceable value of the look or taking in a painting in th e development of Art History in the XXI century. In order to know we must see and therefore we must look and stare at somebody or so mething. We must learn how to open our eyes, and not loosen our tongues (Gombrich). We must learn to take in the depth and the sou l of masterworks, of Velazquez painting because eyes are the mirror of the soul/ look and contemplate without being in a hurry.
