The Poliorama Theater is located in the heart of Barcelona, on Las Ramblas 115, very close to Plaza Catalunya. The entire building of which it is a part belongs to the Royal Academy of Sciences and Arts of Barcelona.
The building, by Josep Domènech i Estapà, stands out for a long historical journey. Inaugurated in 1894, in 1899 the Cinema Martí was opened, the first one properly built as a cinema in Barcelona. From 1906, already converted into Cinema Poliorama, it began to alternate cinema and theater. From 1976 on, he started to dedicate himself exclusively to theater and between 1985 and 1996 he was the headquarters of the Dramatic Center of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Since 1996, the management and programming of the Poliorama Theater-together with that of the Teatre Victòria-is in charge of Tres per 3, a company constituted by the members of Tricicle, Dagoll Dagom and Anexa in 1986. Tickets on sale at Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.es) and also at the theater box office.
