Caixaforum Madrid, from September 20, 2019 to January 12, 2020
The objects of luxury in the ancient Assyrian, Babylonian, Phoenician and Persian empires, from 900 to 300 BC, are the protagonists of this exhibition.
They are empires that extended between the current Spain and India and constituted the zone of access between the Mediterranean world and Asia. The consumption of luxury objects helps us to understand how these ancient civilizations interacted.
The exhibition presents more than 200 luxury objects from the British Museum: ivories, jewels, reliefs, glass, gold and metals.
Below you will find a selection of books and the exclusive objects of the exhibition.
