CosmoCaixa Barcelona, from June 15 to October 3rd, 2020

Nine million years ago, in the area where we currently find Madrid, lived animals that today are extinct: saber-toothed felines, giraffes, rhinoceroses, bears, hyenas, horses, turtles...

This exhibition presents the fossil remains of species that lived during the Miocene found in the deposits of Cerro de los Batallones. They are in total more than 160 pieces very well conserved among which we find eight anatomical assemblies, the complete carapace of a giant turtle, two complete skulls of saber-toothed tigers and a skull and a mandible of a mastodon.

Below you will find the recommended bibliography and a selection of objects for this exhibition.
