Arts y Crafts is one of the most influential design movements of all time, beginning in the late 19th century and still being explor ed by designers today. The Arts y Crafts ethos - rejecting mass production and industrialization in favour of individualism, simplic ity, honest craftsmanship, respect for materials and good design - had a massive impact on the design of the early 20th century and transformed design sensibilities globally.
