CHRISTIAN MARCLAY

Produced on the occasion of his 2003 survey exhibition at the UCLA Hammer Museum. Sound, and our culturally determined reactions to it, form the basis of Marclays genre- and media-crossing art. Fascinated by the translation of the audible into the visible, the sp ace between what we hear and see informs his work/ his sources of inspiration include telephone conversations, movies, reviews of mu sical performances, and CD and album covers.
