Josef Albers (18881976) and Wassily Kandinsky (18661944), artists and teachers at the Bauhaus, were exiled from Germany when the s chool was forced to close in the early 1930s. The 46 letters in this volume document the intimate exchange between these two friends in a period when the world was coming apart.
