PAUL SCHNEIDER

Paul Schneider-Esleben (19152005) is a paragon of architecture in the young Federal Republic: his innovative power shows itself in his Düsseldorf buildings, such as the large glass Haniel parking structure (195053), the Mannesmann Building (195558), the first h igh-rise in postwar Germany, and the Rochus Church (195255). He was always enormously interested in the visual arts: he collaborate d with, for example, Günther Uecker, Heinz Mack, Josef Piene, and Joseph Beuys on the design for the Rolandschule (195761).
