Among the most esteemed German photojournalists of the postwar period, Robert Lebeck (19292014) used his charisma and mischievous n ature to instantly and naturally connect with his subjects. He made no distinction between rich or poor/ in front of his camera, all were equal. His photographs of celebrities and world leaders such as Elvis Presley, Woody Allen, Romy Schneider and Willy Brandt ha ve long been lodged in Germanys collective visual memory.
