R. A. Cram fou un prestigiós arquitecte nord-americà (1863-1942). Visità la Seu de Mallorca el 1925, en quedà impressionat i publicà un opuscle a Cambridge el 1932 -que ara reeditem en català. Generalment poc conegut a Espanya, és un personatge de capital importàn cia en la història de larquitectura dels Estats Units, on aixecà almenys setanta esglésies, preferentment neogòtiques.
