NASSER ROAD - POLITICAL POSTERS IN UGANDA

Nasser Road in Kampala is a mythical place known for its trade in printing and fraud. Anything can be produced and sold there, from fake identity cards to university degrees. The book spotlights one of the districts main products: posters portraying politicans and well-known persons as superheroes. The artworks are both decorative and political, pushing narratives of the common mans struggle against the might of Western imperialism, with international villains celebrated as anti-heroes.
