  • Global warming causes not only the melting of Antarctica and the Arctic, it also explains why extreme weather events are becoming more frequent.
  • Climate change is also causing large displacements of people who can no longer survive in their places of origin.
  • Overexploitation of natural resources has also altered entire ecosystems.
  • The pollution caused by domestic and industrial waste reaches already the most unsuspected places on the planet.

The fight against air pollution is the theme of World Environment Day 2019. June 5th is the date instituted in 1972 by the UN with the aim of raising awareness among the population, encouraging the governments to work to protect it.

Decades later, it’s already urgent to take measures to prevent the degradation of the planet. The strikes for the climate change or the student demonstrations under the hashtag #Fridays4future show the concern of young people, who face a future not so far away.

Faced with problems of global magnitude, what can we do in our daily lives?

The titles that we have included in this brief selection including basic issues to fight the climate change denial and more complex publications, not forgetting the nature writing, a rising genre that demonstrates the need to look at the world with different eyes.
