A new book is offering us a chance to peek inside the personal sketchbook of the 20th century art giant.This is the first publicatio n to focus on Schieles early works, and it includes both in-depth analysis and reproductions of hitherto unpublished works. During his first creative phase, Schiele developed several basic formal principles, among them his distinctive brushstroke, his intensity a nd the expressive line that characterises his work.
