Hans Hartung was an exceptional painter and personality. As an antifascist, he emigrated to France where, after the war, he became a prominent member of the École de Paris. In the course of the 1960s, his work became especially bold. In 1973, he withdrew to Antibe s in the South of France, where he developed his experimental late work. This comprehensive volume has been compiled in cooperation with the Fondation Hans Hartung et Anna-Eva Bergman, Antibes.
