MUNCH VAN GOGH

Van Gogh and Munch are known for their emotionally charged paintings and drawings, their personal and innovative style, and their li fes full of hardship. They both strived for modernization of the arts by depicting existential and universal themes in an expressive pictorial language. Despite many striking parallels in their oeuvres and artistic ambitions, and the fact that they are frequently bracketed together, the challenge of juxtaposing them in an exhibition has never been met.
