STAN DOUGLAS (ENG)

Douglas approaches the issues of his works by thorough investigations and photographic series, which he assembles to elaborate film and video installations and comments with his own project descriptions. These technically precise realisations are the base for his subtle criticism of society, authorship and subjectiveness in times of transition from mechanical reproducibility to the electronic era. His installations are media machines, weird automats, which do not seem to have an author and which involve the viewer in their mechanics.
