SCREENING LITERATURE

This book examines the ways in which literary works have been staged and transformed in visual art, specifically in the field of con temporary film and video installation since the mid-1990s. Focusing on artworks by Kutlug Ataman, Gerard Byrne, Stan Douglas, and Fi ona Tan, it explores the role of literature in relation to cultural memory, as a place where narrative conventions are negotiated, a nd where cultural space is mediated and constructed.
