HOW WE MADE NOISE - REIMAGINIG THE MUSEUM FROM WITHIN

Institutions worldwide, especially museums, are rethinking their roles as they confront colonial, gendered, and other harmful legacies. This anthology draws on the practice of Buro Stedelijk, a physical space and institution within the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Between 2022 and 2025, Buro Stedelijk collaborated with over 200 voices to test how institutions might be reimagined from within. Through ambitious and critically attentive programming, it explored the tensions between care and power, legacy and change.
